Well, a wild and action packed weekend for me. It all started off with a dousing of bitter from a mate at work (Bangay). Drinking games are always a liability, but you are bound to lose when someone makes up his own rules!
Saturday was then my hectic day. Two hours of badminton to start with - today I feel it, with my body hurting everywhere. The old saying of 'muscles aching in places you didn't know could' rings very true for me, as strangely enough my forehead actually hurts from looking up so much!
The afternoon was an excercise of a different type, this time my vocal chords in three hours of karaoke. No much to say about that, except our rendition of 'My Way' probably could have been heard all the way back in Japan from the way we were singing it.
And Saturday evening was also late night poker night. Ok, I lost, but I've sussed out my mates games now. So watch out guys!
And Sunday? Well, after lunch with the lovely Jeanne and a bit of shopping, it's been an enjoy the sunshine sort of day. Nice really...
Anyway, the hectic life I lead continues this week. And a Bank Holiday to come next weekend. Can't wait!

Well, Easter Monday was a lovely sunny day up in Cambridge and Grantchester. Pretty cool. That'll shock a few people to see an Oxford man say something good about the other place.
Anyway, just have to add a mentionfor pod-mate, Lula - have a great time in New Zealand! Really sad to see you leave our noisy pod. I guess I may have mentioned a few times that I'm a little bit jealous of you, right? Anyway, have fun and see you when you get back!
Anyway, don't have much else to add this week So, I'll just leave it there... Cheerio.!

Happy Birthday, Jeanne =)
At the risk of celebrating your birthday more than you do, I thought I might add a message to my website, so that everyone knows! Hope you had a lovely day!
Meanwhile, it is also Easter Day, so happy Easter everyone. I haven't been scoffing lots of eggs myself, but a thought occurred to me that anyone who gives up chocolate for lent does end up with the greatest reward in the end...
Anyway, as you can see, I have put up round 2 of my photos from New Orleans during this extended weekend. I still have a few photos that may be good enough from my disposable camera that I haven't quite finished using up the film of, but I'll do that some time soon.
Otherwise, it's a chilled out weekend. I hope it was so for everyone else!

Doesn't time fly by? It's nearly Easter and Spring is in the air (in London at least), the blossoms are coming out and ... oh it's just started pouring with rain on my window, just as I start writing this. Oh, the so cunning British weather, eh?
But it has felt like spring recently. On Friday I went to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum. This year's competition was much, much better than last year's disappointment (in my opinion, anyway) and I was impressed by the hard work put into some of the photos. A visit to the V&A next door, and all in all a chance for a pleasant walkabout on a spring afternoon.
Yesterday, though, was something completely different. Having to suffer from foul sporting results for the second weekend running (Arsenal's defeat in the FA Cup semi-final), I had also to endure smugness of a certain Man Utd supporter (well done, Shen Lei)! At least our impartial observer, Mona, didn't get swayed either way...
Later in the day, having met up with old school mates, Ramin, Stef, Sim, and a lot later, Dan, we made the random decision to go to Sheen for the evening. There we stumbled on a restaurant called The Naked Turtle. This has to be one of the quaintest restaurants I know outside of central London, with the menu consisting of various exotic meats, that evening being bison, crocodile, kangaroo and ostrich. A live band also plays jazz and the waitresses sing (and they sang well, I might add). Whilst the concept is great, the place does suffer from very slow service (they probably need a few non-singing waitresses to help out), and a rather hefty bill for it at the end... which spoiled it a little.
Anyway, Sunday's been quiet for a change. And with Easter coming up next weekend, it's beginning to feel like summer's just around the corner now...

It's been 3 weeks since I've written, apologies for that - I've been superbly overrun over the last two weeks and have just made up for it! Well, what can I say. It's not a great week to be a sports fan. Or rather, not great for me. France beat England in the 6 Nations (admittedly France were sublime), Cambridge beat Oxford in the Boat Race this evening (hiss, boo - the filthy Tabs cheated :P), and in a tiny bit of consolation, Arsenal drew with Manchester United (a win would of course have been better). So not a great weekend for me all round... I look forward to the ribbing my colleagues are going to give me in the morning. My buddy, Rodolphe - looks like you've done well out of it... ;)
Talking of colleagues, I'll just say hi to a few people who came visit my website whilst at work last week. Hello to my 'bench' of Lula, Angad, Gabbie, Ben, Rodolphe and Faizy. Welcome back if you're reading this website again. Meanwhile, I also have to give a special mention to Davinia, no longer an LEKer as of last Friday, sitting across from my desk, but my client to be (she is really moving to the client I'm working for at the moment!). Well at least she won't be asking me any more Excel questions from across my desk (although Davinia, of course, you do know my work number...). Oh, and I was tempted to put her name here in full (Davinia - followed by - J***) in one go, but I didn't feel cruel enough to deprive her from continuing to have the status of 'google-whack'.
Anyway, aside from all that, I've stuck a few photos of people from my Mardi Gras trip to New Orleans in a section of the site now. Although it may take a little more time to get the rest sorted.
Cheerio.

Just a short message - more urgent things have caught up with me this weekend. Ah, life is busy, but at lease I have time to do certain things, such as see Infernal Affaires on the big screen. Yes it is on limited release in London and with a few mates, we went to see it. It was my third time seeing this movie (it was first out a year ago roughly), but it's that good. Anyway, you can always see my review from the first time I saw it here.
Anyway, I shall find time to write more another time. Otherwise, hope everyone is well.

I'm back, I think anyway. No, I'm definitely back. A week of madness at work awaited me as soon as I got back from which caught me out. But I did just come back from NEW ORLEANS :P
It was a fantastic trip to N.O. - of course, much of it was down to the excellent hosting by my best friend, Jing, and her boyfriend, George. I have to say - it makes a heck of a lot of difference when you have the 'natives' showing taking you to the best places. Not that they're natives, but in the case of Jing, 10 years in the city does count for something! And it showed. Thanks Jing and George for everything.
Meanwhile, most of you will probably be wondering what I got up to. Well I shall save most of that for a report another time - the photos are being digitally developed for the web (I've managed to get through a third of them today and design the web page, so it'll probably be another couple of weeks before they're all up). But suffice it to say that the city of New Orleans not just lives but explodes when Mardi Gras comes along. It was a heck of a sight to see!
That was followed up by a realtively quiet trip to New York, absorbing the bustle of the city by going to a few things more cultural such as a couple of design museums and of course the Guggenheim and the Metropolitan Musem of Art. BTW, having lunch at the MMoA was one of the best accidental ideas I had- they have a pretty well kitted out restaurant!
And after all that I'm now back to the hustle and bustle of London instead. With a couple of farewells so say as well. My best mate, Peter, flew back to HK (via Singapore) last Thursday, and on Monday (tomorrow) Annie leaves for Boston. I guess this city just ain't good enough for everyone!
Well, I shall leave it there for now. And a last to everyone reading this - I went to Mardi Gras in New Orleans! :P
