Ok, a bit post crazy today. But I just remembered something I wanted to write.
The Bafta Awards were held over the weekend and House Of Flying Daggers, despite having 9 nominations for various awards, walked away empty-handed. I’m guessing it’s quite shocking for most of those who were involved with the film. Many of the nominations were for technical awards, with only Zhang Ziyi up for a major award.
But it isn’t much of a surprise. Disappointment with the story was compounded with the fact that technically we had seen much before, particularly with the release of Hero earlier in the year. Anyway, I hope there can be more of these films released onto the mainstream in the future.
