What a guy!

Last Saturday was the 400th anniversary of the attempt to blow up Parliament by a certain Guy Fawkes and four of his mates. And in recognition of the foiled event, we celebrate in this country with fireworks and burn an effigy of Guy on a bonfire.

For the first time in years I attended a bonfire night in Cambridge, on Midsomer Common. It doesn’t quite feel the same as when I was a kid, but certainly it was pretty amazing. But I somewhat miss the old days, when the atmosphere was very different, when it was much more of a family occasion. Hopefully that might change back!

Anyway, thanks to Stef for the invitation to Cambridge. It’s been a long time since I’ve been back to the ‘other place’, but I welcomed the hospitality!

First Accident
I had my first car accident on Sunday – after some 8 years since I got my licence. Wet, heavy traffic, smack. I’m feeling pretty gutted about that. Well, I guess you have to have one in your life at some point. Sigh…
