I’ve been lucky enough to have been to New Orleans twice. My best friend, Jing, has on both occasions been kind enough to take me round and I marvelled at the place, the history and the music.
Fortunately, Jing was not in New Orleans at the time Katrina hit, but having seen the pictures on TV and in the newspapers, her family home will be flooded now. I can’t imagine what will happen in New Orleans now – such a beautiful city wiped out by one of the daughter’s of Mother Nature.
Our thoughts here are with everyone with New Orleans. Last night, as I sipped my hand grenade and my friends a few strawberry daquiris, I couldn’t help but think of the town which introduced me to the explosive cocktail and the place where you could pick up a daquiri in a drive-thru.
New Orleans, hold on strong, and rebuild your beautiful city, because you are special.
