New, Improved, Updated

Well, I hope you think so. I’ve integrated my blog now onto the front page of my website, as I realised I wasn’t updating it as often as I probably should. And I’ve also updated the template to make it feel a little more homely too… Anyway, I’ve made a few improvements to various ways the site works, so I should be able to publish a few words more often now, even when I’m busy. Also, I plan to work on putting some more photos up at the end of November / beginning of December, when I take a well earned break from work. So my annual cleanup should go well.

* MONA RETURNS TO LONDON *
I had neglected to mention yesterday that Mona returned to London very briefly after training in Cape Cod and being in transit between Boston and HK, she decided to pay some of us a visit. (Ok, actually it wasn’t necessarily the majority of us she really wanted to see, but hey, we imposed!

Anyway, far from Bainie-bashing, I was well chuffed that three management consultants were sitting round the table, two who worked in investment banks (one though is in IT), one lawyer, one training to be a lawyer and a banker to be. It must be the first time in memory that I’ve been to dinner with a group of friends where there were more consultants. Bliss.

Another surprise was seeing Peter Snow, BBC News presenter at the restaurant we were at. Shouldn’t really be that surprised – the restaurant was in the BBC’s Millbank building – but it was quite cool seeing one of my TV idols there. I didn’t want to interrupt his evening by saying hi, so I didn’t but, I had met him before anyway – his son, Dan, and I were in the same year at school for some 8 years, although we weren’t that close. Anyway, a very nice surprise…

Anyway, back to lovely Mona. With her jetting round everywhere, it makes all of us a little jealous! But it was great to see her again. But judging by the numbers of people who were at the dinner, it does seem that there are plenty of us still in London. Hopefully not too many of us will disappear too soon.
