It’s here. A month of being glued to the TV watching the world’s best players kick around a football in the heat of the German sun. Bliss.
I have to say that over the last few weeks, I have been distancing myself from the hype, particularly around the England team. It’s not that I’m not patriotic, but the right perspective must be taken into the tournament. England aren’t the best team in the world, but have a fantastic chance of winning. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, expecting to lift the cup, but instead backing our boys with our undivided support.
Anyway, the kick-off to the first game is an hour away. Good luck to all teams involved and we all look forward to an amazing spectacle of football.
