I had previously posted my story of visiting a “haunted house” in Hong Kong [Google Earth location]. Turns out that it isn’t one at all.
This evening I had dinner with my flatmate, Kevin, and his parents. They live not far from the so-called haunted house in Po Shan Road, and in fact they knew the previous owner before they sold the house some 6 years ago. Unfortunately, planning permission wasn’t given for the demolition of the place for a new block of high-rise flats, so the place has been left abandoned for years.
In fact, there isn’t anything sinister about the place at all. Filipino maids actually gather in the evenings to say hi to each other in front of it. It’s just a sad abandoned house.
Shame, the myth was more exciting!
