Flat-tened

It’s been hectic – flat hunting isn’t easy, believe me. I’ve seen probably about half a dozen places now but not many have taken my fancy. It’s rather exciting so far, seeing all these places that I can afford and potentially own. Hopefully, though, something right will pop up soon, because it is getting close frustrating seeing all these places but knowing they’re not quite right.

Meanwhile at work, it’s been even more hectic. Sheer volume of work and being pretty swamped, it’s certainly a busy time for our company, I must say!

So really, no time to twiddle thumbs…

* VOTE SOMEBODY *
Well, I have managed to avoid talking about the election so far on this site, but with only 8 days left before the country goes to vote, it’s getting down to crunch time and I have to make a decision myself on who to vote for.

It is the first time I’ll be voting in a General Election as a member of the working population. I have previously voted once as a student and abstained from voting another time. Next week, I fully intend to vote, but for which party, well it’s all a bit of measuring up…

It’s sad, but many of us are in effect voting for the least of three evils. A high tax, high spend LibDem manifesto, a low tax, more spending Conservative manifesto, and a more of the same to come Labour manifesto. As a management consultant, I have to say that Labour has done good things for business in recent years, with Gordon Brown keeping us out of a deep recession. But as Richard Branson has said, there won’t be much difference between a Conservative policy and a Labour policy. So who do I vote for? Do I believe that the Conservatives that they’d cut waste in government (but isn’t that what every party has
said in the past, and if so, how come there’s still some left)? Or do I believe Tony Blair after his misinformed decisions or Charles Kennedy, whose party has never been tested in government?

But ultimately, the question comes down to who do I trust to run the country and who don’t I trust? A hard one to answer. Can we all answer it? We shall see…

* POTTY TO GO TO BOTTY *
Being so busy, I’ll need a break at some point. So when I got Liana’s invitation to go on a walking safari in Botswana, it was far too exciting to turn down, so we’re booking that trip! But it looks like I’ll need to do a bit of exercise to get fit for the hiking. 45 minutes of aerobic exercise three or four times a week! Well, I guess you can’t say I’m doing nothing these days…
