Bank Holiday Weekending

First of all, congratulations to Alison on her new flat! After four months of waiting after her offer for the paperwork to be done (missing landlord, lease clauses not in the right shape, etc.), she now has a nice pad in Chelsea. Living about 2 minutes from our boss. Bad luck!

But Kevin, Nicole and I had the privilege of seeing the place last night, and it is very nice! Unfortunately, so far, the furniture consists of just 2 chairs, a bed, lots of new coat hangers, a vacuum cleaner and an ashtray (very important!). But I’m looking forward to seeing the place once it’s decked out in the latest Chelsea styles!

* OFFER MADE *
Of course, my flat hunting hasn’t stopped. Having only been looking for 4 weeks, this week was an adventure in Limehouse. Having made 3 appointments to see places in Limehouse, all of which were more of a miss, by pure chance I stumbled on an estate agent I hadn’t seen before. Two spontaneous flat viewings later, a hard decision came as to which one to make an offer on. And I did for one. Hopefully now, the offer will be accepted, and I can start moving on the tedious bit of making the arrangements.

* BANGKOK ROSS *
Saturday evening, a bunch of us went to Stefan’s flat in Cambridge for dinner. And Stefan and Ben, the Ross brothers, made a great Thai curry and Tom Ka soup dinner. Having had the seal of approval from Dan (“this is the best curry I’ve tasted”), it could well be that Stefan’s next venture will be to open a Thai restaurant. Watch out for the lovely dessert of chocolate cake and trifle, a delightful combination! We may as well give Stefan and Ben their Michelin stars now…
